Revolution Regional Learning Academy Receives NOMA Design Award

The National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) has awarded the Revolution Regional Learning Academy in Charlotte, North Carolina with its 2011 Design Excellence Honor Award. The 30,000 SF sports and learning center is located in the historic Revolution Park neighborhood and is currently under review as a certified LEED Gold building by the US Green Building Council. The design and construction incorporates local and regional materials into a unique facility that complements the historic neighborhood while establishing a modern and distinct presence. Daylighting was incorporated into the design through clerestory windows.
The project team worked hard to ensure the facility design and construction would provide an aesthetic, functional, sustainable, and durable public building. Quality can only be achieved through teamwork and this project represents the high standard of building performance that can be achieved through collaboration and hard work.
